CLEAR BAG PROCEDURE AND SECURITY SCREENINGS

Clear Bag Procedure Spartanburg School District Three will always prioritize safety. For this reason, as an added precaution, clear bags will be required within all athletic venues starting at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year. Approved Bags -Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. -One-gallon clear plastic storage bag (Ziploc bag or similar). -Small clutch bags, purses, or wallets, approximately the size of a hand (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”), with or without a handle or strap. -Medically necessary items and diaper bags (after proper inspection). -Patrons can still carry other items into the stadium, such as binoculars, cameras, and smartphones. Still, their carrying cases will only be allowed if they meet the above criteria. -Seat cushions and blankets are still permitted (subject to inspection). -Media may bring equipment but will be subject to bag inspections. Security Screenings District Three has also implemented new security protocols for large public events at Broome High School, Clifdale Middle, District Three Community Auditorium, and Royal Stadium. OPENGATE is a walk-through weapons detection system that will be utilized in Fall 2023 and beyond. It allows for a quick-flowing entry line without the need to pull out non-threatening items, like keys and phones, making it a seamless process for everyone involved.
